Powerpanel is the best concrete board for lining stove chambers because;
- One side is a decorative smooth finish, requiring minimal preparation. Decoration is easy and the finish is excellent
- Laminated structure, reinforced on both sides beneath the surface with alkali-resistant glass-fibre
mesh. Provides strength and structural rigidity - Expanded clay beads form a strong lightweight core that absorbs sound and makes handling easier
- Powerpanel Fine Surface treament is a ready mixed filler and skim coat that patches screwheads, fills gaps and dresses edges. Designed by fermacell for use on Powerpanel, it meets the 200°C stability rating of the boards.
Concrete based lining boards are used in applications where Plastboard would not be suitable.
- Plasterboard is the wrong product for fireplaces, the paper surface is combustible and the Gypsum plaster core will not withstand the heat.
